FAQ

Which kind of students do you teach?

I teach adult students of all levels and nationalities, from very beginners to advanced. Whether you are a business person who needs Italian for work, or a student going to Erasmus, or simply an Italy lover, I will set up a specific learning plan for you.

Where do lessons take place?

At the moment, due to the pandemic, classes are held online only

You can choose from Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams.

For other platforms, just contact me and we'll find a solution.

How can I book my lessons?

If you are interested in taking lessons with me, please book a trial first.

The trial is for free and it's meant to let us get to know each other and discuss your needs and goals.

If you can't find a day/time which fits you, please contact me and we will schedule the trial together.

How can I pay for my lessons?

You can pay via bank transfer, PayPal or Wise. I will send you the details in a private message.

Payments must be done in advance. After the payment you will receive your invoice.

Please be aware that transaction costs are at the student's expense.

I need to reschedule/cancel a lesson. What's the policy?

If there is more than 24 hours before the lesson time begins, you can reschedule/cancel your lesson for free, by sending an email.

If there is less than 24 hours before the lesson time begins, it’s not possible to reschedule/ cancel for free and the class will be considered as done.

I have already studied some Italian.
How can I know my level?

No worries: we will figure it out during your trial class.

If you want to get an impression of your level, compare it with the CEFR -Common European Framework of Reference for languages.

Do I need to buy something for the course?

You don't need to buy anything! I will send you all the material we need via email before the class starts.

If you prefer working from a textbook, I will gladly recommend the best one for you, after talking about your goals and learning style.

I need to take an official exam for Italian. Which are the most important ones? Do you prepare students for them?

The main official exams for the Italian language are CILS from University for Foreigners of Siena, and CELI from University for Foreigners of Perugia.

I'm a CILS and CELI examiner, hence I prepare students for all levels of these exams. I will explain to you how the exam works and help you practice by providing past exams.

I also prepare students who need to take the CILS or CELI  exam for the citizenship

I only see 60-minutes lesson.
Do you offer different durations?

I think a 60-minute duration is a good balance between conversation and grammar and gives the right time to develop a topic. Nevertheless, if you are interested in other solutions, feel free to write me a message and will find the most suitable option for you.

How quickly will I learn the language?

My experience shows that industrious students make progress from 25% to 50% faster. That's why I would recommend you to take one class per week and be consistent in studying.

We are a team and, on my end, I will do my best to make you reach your goals.

For further information, don't hesitate to contact me. I'll be glad to answer all your questions!
